A Happy Fail

I've often wondered if it's possible to have time off as a writer.

Even when you're not actually sitting at the keyboard, or researching, you tend to be thinking about your work.

But I've had a very busy year, so I resolved to take a break this Christmas with at least a day away from writing.

Guess what?

I failed. Totally and hopelessly.

It's Christmas Day and here I am, writing a blog.

After having done some editing on my young adults book, that is. And writing a writing tweet as well.

I'd call that failing with style!

Usually, I hate failing. But on this occasion...

I'm happy about it.

For what is life without a love and a passion? And here I am indulging myself most merrily.

Excuse me if I keep this brief, because I do have other things to do -

My beloved geese await their Xmas treat of fresh wholemeal bread, then there's a stroll around my wonderful River Exe, and yes, perhaps a beer or two (you knew that was coming, didn't you?)

But first, a very Merry Xmas to you. Thanks for taking an interest in my musings and ramblings, and wishing you a splendid 2017.
