To help a new lettings company spread its message around the world and become established as a successful business.
Cambridgerooms4let had bought and renovated four large houses in Cambridge, creating dozens of smart and comfortable rooms for couples and single people working in the city.
A particular market was overseas workers and students.
The company had no website, and very limited social media presence.
Its marketing and promotion was carried out by a lettings agency, but Cambridgerooms4let wanted to take that in house to reduce costs and improve results.
Working with a web developer, I created a tailor made site www.cambridgerooms4let.co.uk.
It was optimised for people seeking rooms in Cambridge to find, featured a video shot and edited by me, along with photographs also taken by me.
The back end of the site was designed to be simple, and the company was trained in how to use it, along with the art of taking smart and appealing photos.
Any room which becomes free is now photographed and added to the website in a matter of minutes, reducing periods without a tenant.
I also identified the social media platforms to target, and the most powerful messages to use, to help market the company.
Hegla Sillo, Cambridgerooms4let Accommodation Manager said, "Simon was brilliant to work with.
"First, he listened to exactly what we needed so he could create the perfect solution for us.
"Then he wrote, and helped to develop the website, so it did everything we needed – and remarkably quickly.
"We were particularly thrilled with the video, featuring testimonials from some of our guests, which was very powerful.
"The way Simon taught us how to take photos of the rooms, and to write information about them that really works on the web, was simple, effective and enjoyable.
"We were delighted with the service he offered, from start to finish, and the aftercare too. He’s always there whenever we need extra support.
"Simon’s work has made a big contribution to ensuring the business is a great success."
